A NEW YEAR, A NEW DECADE

Happy 2020 dear friends!!

With the start of a New Year and Decade, I wish to send my love and blessings to you and your families for the future ahead. May life treat you with its gentleness even in the challenging moments, may you listen to the goodness that you are and trust it, may health be known in all the cells of your body and every breath you receive and give.

Walking through the smoke and haze that brought me into this new year and decade was unsettling, yet in the silence of this haze, I could sense a great cleansing and purifying process taking place — a making way for the new, a releasing of old ideas and patterns.

In many moments, I wondered how my body would mutate to cope with the weather, how would I/we survive even thrive in this changing environment. One of the biggest questions was, “How can I love my breather if the air I am inhaling is the equivalent to smoking 29 cigarettes.” “How can I love my breather if the air I inhale may harm me?”

The only answer that I could come up with was “that my loving intention on my inhale was enough.” But is it? As I sit with this question, I realise I can’t take anything for granted, so this year I choose to be awake and to honour all that I receive and give. To walk a simple path and always give thanks.

Because without clean air, what is life? Without clean water, what is life?

How would I sing and express this life, if everything I breathe in is polluted?

May we learn to honour and take care of our bodies, so that we may accept and take care of the earth body. It provides us with so much beauty and abundance. May we understand that we don’t have control and to continue to soften into all the hard edges. We are all in this together.

What song is this decade bringing forth for you?
